Desert Terminal Lakes

About this story

Mono Lake appears as a deep blue oasis in a vast grey-green expanse of sagebrush desert ringed by high mountains and volcanoes. Sometime in the early 1860's, American author and humorist, Mark Twain, camped along its ancient shores and described his impressions of the lake in his book "Roughing It."
