About this story

From the beginning, the Slim Princess hauled precious metals, along with zinc, sulphur, marble, and salt from mines along the Eastern Sierra and Nevada border. Salt, had been traded since the days of the Paiute. And vast fields of exceptionally pure salt were found on the far side of the Inyo Mountains at a place aptly named Saline Valley. It was there for the taking; unfortunately an 8500 foot mountain range stood in the way.
